What it can help show
- The account user resembles the person in submitted photos.
- The member completed the current photo-verification process.
- The submission passed the current photo-matching review.
Profile trust and verification
Photo verification is designed to help members judge whether the person using an account appears to match the photos submitted for review.
A verification badge is one useful trust signal. It is not medical verification, a background check or proof that every statement in a profile is accurate.

Read the badge literally
It adds useful context to a profile, but its scope is intentionally narrow.
What it can help show
What it does not show
A distinction that matters here
Positive Single serves people living with herpes, HIV, HPV, hepatitis and other STIs, but the photo badge does not independently confirm any diagnosis, test result, treatment or current transmission risk. Medical decisions should never be based on that badge.
Health questions belong in direct, respectful conversation and, when appropriate, with a qualified healthcare professional. Read how STI testing works in Canada without treating a dating profile as medical evidence.
Current account path
This action takes place inside a signed-in account. There is no public verification form on this site.
Open the account that contains the main photo you want reviewed.
Find Verifications beneath the profile photo in the account menu.
Select the main-photo option rather than a different account check.
Start the short camera-based comparison process.
Keep your face inside the guide and complete each requested movement.
Leave the required profile photos in place while the submission is pending.
Timing: current help guidance says results are normally confirmed or rejected within 24 hours. In practical terms, allow about one working day; processing time can vary.
Before the camera opens
You do not need a polished portrait. You do need a well-lit, unobstructed view of the same person shown in the profile photos.
Two photos, two purposes
Current first-party guidance says material submitted specifically for verification is confidential and is not displayed as a normal public profile photo or made available for members to browse.
That does not make the submission invisible to the service carrying out the review. Public documentation does not provide enough detail here to make claims about biometric retention, processing technology, storage location or deletion schedules, so this guide does not invent them.
The main photo appears on the profile and in member discovery. Current help says it must remain a public photo.
It is submitted for the verification review and does not become a normal profile image.
When the submission does not pass
A rejection does not always point to a mismatch. Framing, lighting, access and connection issues can also stop the review.
Use a recent main photo showing one person, close enough for the face to be seen without heavy obstruction or blur.
Make sure the same person appears in both and that current appearance is reasonably represented.
Restart and follow the circle or movement prompts slowly rather than guessing what the camera needs.
Allow camera access, close another app using the camera, then reopen the verification flow in a current browser or restart the app.
Move to a stable connection and submit again. Keep the verification screen open until the action completes.
Current help says deleting all public photos cancels photo verification. Restore an eligible public main photo, then review the account status.
Clear face photo; same person in profile and selfie; even light; full face visible; camera permission enabled; stable connection; prompts followed.
On a phone, the camera step may feel more natural. The Positive Singles app guide explains camera permissions and mobile privacy without assuming that every account setting appears identically on web and mobile.
After review
When a submission passes, the profile can show that the current photo-verification process was completed. That is useful information, but it does not freeze the account in time. Changing or removing profile photos may affect the status; if the badge changes, review the Verifications area in the account.
Photo verificationDoes the person appear to match submitted photos?
Profile consistencyDo details remain coherent over time?
ConversationAre answers direct and are boundaries respected?
Voice or videoDoes live contact add confidence before meeting?
BehaviourIs there pressure for money, private information or immediate off-platform contact?
The badge does not excuse behaviour
A verified member can still make inaccurate claims, apply pressure, send unwanted messages or break community rules. End contact, block or report when behaviour warrants it. Verification should support ordinary judgment, never override it.
Different controls, different jobs
| Account feature | What it helps with | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Photo verification | Whether the account user resembles submitted photos | Decide which members may see selected album photos |
| Private Album | Granting or removing access to selected photos | Automatically verify the account or replace the required public main photo |
The details that cause avoidable confusion
Replace an outdated or obscured image with a recent, clear main photo before submitting. The review needs a profile image that provides a fair comparison with the selfie video.
Current help requires a clear profile face photo, says the main public photo cannot be moved to the Private Album and warns that deleting all public photos cancels verification. It does not support a private-only promise.
The review depends on photos remaining available for comparison. Current help specifically says deleting all public photos cancels photo verification; changing other profile imagery may also require you to review the status in your account.
The browser or app may have a separate camera permission, another app may already be using the camera, or the verification screen may need to be reopened after permission changes. Check those three points before changing devices.
Current first-party guidance says verification material is confidential and is not displayed as a normal public profile photo. That is different from claiming the service itself cannot access the submission for review.
No. The current help centre describes confirmation or rejection within 24 hours, but processing can vary. Allow about one working day before treating the result as delayed.
Do not assume a previous status is permanent. Check the Verifications area after replacing or removing profile photos and follow the account prompt if another review is required.
No. Photo matching does not validate intentions or future conduct. End contact, block or report when behaviour is suspicious, regardless of the badge shown on the profile.
Product steps and limits were checked against the current PositiveSingles Help and FAQ on August 26, 2026. Account labels and policies can change.
One more piece of useful information
The badge can make it easier to judge whether a profile photo matches the person using the account. Read the rest of the profile, take time with conversation and act when behaviour does not feel right.
